Top 5 Places in Burnaby

Cedar Creek, located in the revitalized Edmonds neighbourhood of South Burnaby places you in the center of everything the city has to offer! Burnaby is easily accessible by public transport and perfectly caters to locals and visitors alike. Here are our top 5 places to visit in Burnaby:

#1 Deer Lake Park

Spend an afternoon surrounded by nature at Deer Lake Park- the park has easy walking trails with scenic views of the lake and beach area. During the summer, you can also rent rowboats, kayaks, canoes, and pedal boats to enjoy time on the lake.

As well as trails and beautiful scenery, Deer Lake is also home to Century Gardens and the outdoor Burnaby Village Museum, where history comes to life! The Museum has a variety of interesting exhibits, as well as a beautiful, vintage carousel and an original tram that was used in Vancouver from 1913- 1958. An additional bonus is that admission is free!

# 2 The Burnaby Mountain Conservation Area

The Burnaby Mountain Conservation Area is one of our favourite places to visit due to its magnificent views of Downtown Vancouver, the North Vancouver mountain range and Vancouver Island. We particularly recommend visiting this area in the evening and catching the breath-taking sunset! While you’re there, be sure to check out the ‘Playground of the Gods’ – a series of totem poles honouring Burnaby’s connection to its sister city, Kushiro, Japan.

No need to worry about what time of year you visit this site as its beauty is evident 12 months a year.

# 3 The Burnaby Farmers Market

The Burnaby Farmers Market truly has it all, from local vendors offering a variety of food and drinks to local artists selling their crafts. The farmers market also provides guests with a social area, live music, and fun activities that the whole family will enjoy!

The market runs every Saturday from 10am-2pm from November to April and then 9am- 2pm from May to November.

# 4 Anton’s Pasta Bar

As “Vancouver’s original pasta bar,” Anton’s is definitely one of our top choices for places to eat in Burnaby! This cozy Italian eatery is a fan favourite that keeps bringing people back for more. With warm hospitality, generous portions and fresh pasta made in-house, you’re bound to leave with a smile on your face – and a full stomach.

After over 25 years in Burnaby and over 70 traditional and original recipes, Anton’s is a place that everyone should experience for themselves.
